The Auxiliary Ministry of Personnel memorialized: "The former Investigating Censor Feng Tai had, on the death of a relative during the Yong-le reign, obtained some stone pillars and tablets by force ....When the Ren-zong Emperor came to the throne... he was sent to Jiao-zhi as a clerk. Now he has been pardoned and returned to the capital. However, as Tai is an unfilial person, it will be difficult to employ him." Thus, the Emperor ordered that he be demoted to a commoner.
