Previously, the king of the country of Ryukyu had sent the envoy Wu Shi and others to sail to the country of Melaka. They met great winds and their ship capsized. Shi and the others, a total of 152 persons, floated to the coast of Hai-nan, where they came ashore and were captured by the patrolling soldiers. The Guang-dong defence officials advised. The Emperor ordered that Shi and the others be sent to the defence headquarters in Fu-jian where they were to be given grain and supplies and that when the tribute envoy from their country departed, they were to be sent home with him.
