When the envoys who had been sent by Bu-la Ge-de Na-mai, the king of the country of Java, were coming to offer tribute, their ship was struck by winds and destroyed. Over 100 persons were drowned and the local products were lost in the sea. All that was saved was the gold-leaf memorial. Wang Xuan, the eunuch director superintendent of the Guang-dong Maritime Supervisorate and others advised. They requested permission to send other persons to present the memorial to the Court. This was approved.
