The Emperor prepared medicine for his mother in order to stop her eyes from running, and it was found that the cones of the coastal pine (海松子) were efficacious. A command was issued to the Guang-dong Provincial Administration Commission requiring it to seek out such cones in the coastal territory of Siam and then to present them for use by the Court.
