Hong Di-zhen, one of the remnant gang members of the deceased pirate Wang Zhi, surrendered and was executed. Di-zhen had his origins in Zhang-zhou and initially, together with Zhi, had been in communication with the fan. Subsequently, Zhi was defeated and his followers, including remnant Japanese pirates, gave their allegiance to Di-zhen and they operated between Nan-ao and Wu Yu.
