Imperial orders of instruction were sent to Li Jun, the king of the country of Annam. The orders read: "Recently, I have received your memorial stating that the previous claims by the country of Champa that you had extorted mottled elephants (花象) and had raised troops and attacked their country, are all false. It has thus been seen that yours is a country which maintains propriety and righteousness. In future, you, king, should maintain more cordial relations with neighbouring states, protect the borders and govern and keep the people in peace. Do not let suspicions over the previous case give rise to hostilities."
