Tian-shun: Year 4, Month 8, Day 16
31 Aug 1460
The attendant minister Cheng Feng and others who had been sent by [Li] Cong, the son of Li Lin, the deceased king of the country of Annam, came to Court to offer tribute of local products. A banquet as well as biao-li of variegated silks, suits of ramie-silk clothing and other goods were conferred upon them. It was also ordered that Feng and the others carry Imperial orders and biao-li of variegated silks and, on their return, confer these upon Cong. The Ministry of Rites advised: "The king of the country of Champa has stated that the country of Annam has been harassing them for repeated years. As Feng and the others are now returning, it is appropriate that they be instructed to advise Cong that in future he should adhere to propriety and maintain good relations with neighbouring states, and not cause troubles or give rise to enmity." This was approved.
