Tian-shun: Year 4, Month Intercalary 11, Day 24
6 Dec 1460
An-qing Prefecture memorialized that the envoys from the country of Java and the fan monks from Chang-he-xi had stopped at the same time at the Tong-an postal relay station. There they got drunk and started fighting and six of the fan monks were killed. The Ministry of Rites advised: "The officials of this post did not send attendants in a timely way to escort the envoys on, and the Messenger Jin Wen and so on did not restrain them. It is requested that they be arrested and investigated. According to the law, the Javanese envoys should be punished. However, they are distant yi who had come to offer tribute and were on their way home. It is difficult to adhere to the normal regulations. It is appropriate that the king of the country be sent Imperial orders requiring that he punish them." This was approved.
