Since inheriting his post, the Annam Commander Mo Mao-qia had sent persons to Court to offer tribute every year without fail. At this time, the triannual tribute was due, and there was an advance request that permission be granted to forward two batches of tribute. Guo Ying-pin, the supreme commander of Guang-dong/Guang-xi memorialized on the request and the Ministry of War re-submitted the request. It was Imperially commanded that the pass be opened to permit the examination and submission of the tribute.
