Wan-li: Year 12, Month 5, Day 2
9 Jun 1584
The Ministry of War re-submitted a memorial by the Yun-nan Regional Inspector Cui Ting-shi: "The rebellion by the Mang bandit involved two factors: 1. The fomenting of troubles in times of peace ; 2. The mistakes made when faced with crisis. In respect of the previously-detailed mistakes made at Meng-lin and of those persons who realized achievements, the regional inspector has memorialized on achievements and crimes. We have closely examined and clarified the degree of each. All punishments and rewards should be implemented as proposed." An Imperial command was issued requiring that Zhang Wei-wu be imprisoned to await a detailed investigation, that Wang San-pin be banished and that Zhao Shou-chen and Gao Yu carry their crimes until they realized achievements. Meng Xiao-zhong was permitted to inherit his grandfather's post, while Mang Hui was given headwear and a belt. The others persons were all dealt with as had been proposed.
