The Yun-nan Grand Coordinator Wu Ding requested permission to retire, as he was ill and was also in mourning. The ministry re-submitted the request noting: "In Yun-nan, externally there are the attacks by the Ava-Burma chieftain and internally there are the discussions about the charges against the grand defender which have not yet been settled. He should be instructed to remain at his post." This was approved.
