The Yun-nan taxation eunuch Yang Rong memorialized: "The native yi of Ava and Meng-mi have demonstrated loyalty and have respectfully presented precious stones, elephants tusks, cloth, rugs and other local goods. They have also requested that special Imperial orders for the precious stone mines be issued, so as to facilitate procurement." The Emperor ordered that the local goods be stored in the treasury and that the Imperial orders be issued as requested.
