Wan-li: Year 44, Month 4, Day 17
31 May 1616
The Yun-nan Regional Inspecting Censor Wu Ying-qi memorialized requesting the provision of a seal to Duo An-jing of the Long-chuan Pacification Commission, saying: "The state, in controlling the yi and the di, uses but the two elements of punishment and reward. Previously, Duo An-min turned his back on the Han and gave allegiance to Ava-Burma, thus choosing to make himself subject to Heaven's punishment. Duo An-jing put righteousness above family relations and returned their allegiance to the Court. Thereby, the yi areas saw peace. The seal has been temporarily stored in Teng-yue Subprefecture awaiting Duo An-jing's establishment as ruler and the request that it be issued. Now, An-jing is an adult and the various yi are happy to come to allegiance. We should use this opportunity to issue the seal, so as to demonstrate the Court's kindness to those in the distance."
