Zhang Gui, an assistant commissioner in the Hu-guang Regional Military Commission, was removed from his post and demoted to a soldier. Gui had gone on expedition to Jiao-zhi but had fled home. When the event became known, the Censorate advised that the death sentence was appropriate. The Emperor ordered that he be especially pardoned the death sentence, but that he be demoted to a soldier.
