The Qian-guo Duke and Regional Commander Mu Sheng and the officials of the three offices in Yun-nan, advised: "In Lan-cang Guard and other areas, there are 600-700 Li-xie bandits who have been engaged in the plundering and killing of people, the burning of storehouses and granaries and the carrying off of horses and buffalo. Official forces were sent to pursue and capture them, but the bandits resisted the attempts. While bringing tribute of local products to the capital, the chieftain Ba-han and others from the Ava-Burma Pacification Superintendency were robbed of gold and silver by these bandits and Ba-han's son was killed by an arrow...."
