Li Qi, vice minister of the right in the Auxiliary Ministry of Rites, and Luo Ru-jing, vice minister of the right in the Ministry of Works, who had gone as envoys to Jiao-zhi, returned. The chieftains Li Qi and He Fu, who had been sent by Li Li accompanied Qi and so on on their return, presented a memorial in gratitude for Imperial grace and advised that Hao, the male descendant of the Chen family, had died on the 10th day of the first month of that year (26 Jan 1428), thus ending the Chen line. They also advised that the people of the country had selected Li to protect the country and that he awaited the orders of the Court.
