Yong-le: Year 18, Month 4, Day 4

The Commissioner Zhang Gui and others who had been sent by the Feng-cheng Marquis Li Bin, regional commander of Jiao-zhi, pursued the bandit Li Zhi to Ting-he County, Zhen-man Prefecture. There he captured the false senior "Dragon-Tiger" General Ding Chong. Zhi led his other followers in fleeing, and Bin personally led the troops in pursuing them. At this time, the false "Dragon-Tiger" Generals Pan Yang and Fan Geng surrendered. Bin ordered his soldiers to conduct a thorough search and Zhi and his wife were also captured, together with the bandit generals Ruan Chu, Du De-ling and Ruan Ru-lei. Over 600 persons were killed or captured and Zhi and so on were fettered and sent to the capital.
