Previously, the eunuch Yang Xuan and others had been sent with Imperial orders of comfort and instruction for the native officials of Meng-ding, Meng-yang, Mu-bang, Lu-chuan, Che-li, Ba-bai, Laos, Gu-la, Zhao-min-te-ling and Dong-wu. At this time, the route of Xuan and so on passed through Ba-bai/Da-dian and there they were obstructed by the native official Dao Zhao-san and were unable to advance.
