Yong-le: Year 4, Month 4, Day 18
6 May 1406
The Meng-lian Chief's Office was established. At this time, the Meng-lian chieftain Dao Pai-song had sent his son Huai-han to come and advise: "Meng-lian was formerly under the Lu-chuan/Ping-mian Pacification Superintendency and later was placed under Meng-ding Prefecture. The Meng-ding prefect Dao Ming-gang was also formerly a Ping-mian Chieftain and I have always been of equal standing with him. It is thus difficult for me to be made his subordinate. It is requested that the jurisdiction relationship be changed." Subsequently, the chief's office was established under the Yun-nan Regional Military Commission. Dao Pai-song was ordered to take on the post of Chief, and headwear, a belt and a seal were conferred upon him.
