Zheng-tong: Year 5, Month 11, Day 26
20 Dec 1440
Imperial orders were sent to the Yun-nan Regional Commander and Vice Commissioner-in-Chief Mu Ang, the three offices of Yun-nan and the regional inspecting censor. The orders read: "Recently, it has been learned that the Bai-yi person Xiao-dai-zhao and others, a total of 109 persons, who had been pacified, have been taken back to Jin-chi. Immediately send persons to escort Xiao-dai-zhao and two or three of his chieftains to the Court. The others are to remain in Yun-nan. As for Mang-pa and Dao Xian-guan who were sent back previously, detain them for a while. Wait until Xiao-dai-zhao returns, then quickly send them back. However, you should supply them with plenty of food and drink. Do not let them feel out of place. You must be strict in your guard and must not let information slip out."
