Zao Gui, the Chief of the Wa Dian Chief's Office in Yun-nan, who had been captured by Si Ren-fa, killed 17 of those guarding him and brought his family in coming to allegiance. The Emperor was pleased with his loyalty and ordered that the appropriate local office reward him. Zao Gui was appointed as a pacification officer, four biao-li of variegated silks were conferred upon him and he was provided with a title patent.
