The Investigating Censor Xu Mao, regional inspector of Guang-dong, memorialized: "As their ship had been damaged by the wind, 28 military personnel and civilians who had accompanied the envoy who was sent to Melaka, drifted to the country of Annam. Li Hao, the king of the country of Annam, provided them with grain and a ship and sent an envoy to escort them home. The language of his despatch is truly deferential and his words are all humble. His respect for the Court is obvious. This is respectfully advised." The Emperor said: "The king of the country of Annam has assisted in sending home military personnel and civilians who were drifting in the ocean. His loyalty and respect are pleasing. Swiftly instruct the Guang-dong Provincial Administration Commission to send a despatch advising the king of this."
