Zheng Xiang, the commander of Da-li Guard, captured and executed the rebellious bandit Gao Tian-hui of Meng-hua Subprefecture and sent his head to Yun-nan. At this time, the native chieftain Meng Qiu and others had not paid their taxes and had engaged in feuding and killing. Xiang thus led troops to Dian-tou and destroyed their stockade. Meng Qiu requested permission to surrender and pay his taxes. Xiang thereupon returned.
