Jiu-cun-ze, the deputy envoy from the country of Champa and others memorialized: "I received orders from the king of our country to come with the king's grandson to offer tribute. I came to Qiong-zhou [Hai-nan] first along with the elephant-handlers. Now, the king's grandson and the chief envoy have arrived in Guang-dong but I have not yet arrived. They were advised by the officials of the three offices to wait and travel together with the tribute products, but I am truly fearful that I will upset matters by my delay." The Emperor ordered the Ministry of Rites to send people to relay instructions to the three offices of Guang-dong requiring them to first send the gold-leaf memorial and the king's grandson to the Court.
