The Yun-nan grand defender and the grand coordinator forwarded the tribute of tusks, elephants, silver flasks, gold bowls, velvet brocade and such local products which had been offered by the Meng-yang Pacification Superintendency. Since the time when the Ava-Burma chieftain began to act recklessly, the Meng-yang native office had long not carried out its tribute obligations. At this time, the Grand Coordinator Xiao Yan submitted their request and the ministry re-submitted it. [The envoys] were banqueted and rewarded in accordance with the precedents.
