The Assignee Hong Yi of the Yun-nan Provincial Administration Commission, memorialized: "As the Che-li Pacification Superintendent Dao Nong had engaged in feuding and killing with his clan uncle Dao Shuang-meng of the Jing-an Pacification Superintendency, he abandoned his territory and gave his allegiance to Laos. It is requested that officials be sent to accompany us in going to pacify him." The Emperor spoke to the ministers Hu Ying and Zhang Ben, saying: "Feuding and killing is a regular occurrence among the man and the yi. How will they suddenly heed the words of a minor person. Order the Qian-guo Duke and the three offices to deliberate on and plan arrangements."
