Lan-xian, who had been sent by his superior Dao Ji-han, the native-official subprefectural magistrate of Ning-yuan Subprefecture in Yun-nan, offered tribute of horses. The Ministry of Rites was ordered to banquet and reward him. In addition, paper money, ramie-silk, silk gauzes and clothing of fine, patterned silks were conferred upon Dao Ji-han. This was in commendation for him having repeatedly sent native troops to accompany the expeditions to Jiao-zhi.
