Huang Gong-ti, the native-official vice prefect of Xuan-hua Prefecture in Jiao-zhi, was promoted to prefect of Tai-yuan Prefecture. Gong-ti had advised: "It is a long way from Jiao-zhi to the capital and the native officials often think about, but cannot personally gaze upon, the surfeit of cultured things at the Court. I have now come to Court and have been especially blessed with Imperial grace. I am extremely fortunate and sincerely desire to realize achievements in the service of the Court to try to repay the kindness." This was approved. The Ministry of Personnel was ordered to send a despatch to the Jiao-zhi Provincial Administration Commission to provide travelling expenses and a grain stipend to his family members and to forward them to the prefecture so that they could be together with him.
