The administrator chieftain (辦事頭目) Ding Bi-yue from Feng-hua Prefecture in Jiao-zhi previously returned to allegiance during the Yong-le reign (1403-24) and he was appointed as the postal relay station attendant at Hou-ma Postal Relay Station in Qu-wo County, Ping-yang Prefecture. At this time, he died of illness and his wife and children had no place to go. They stated that they wished to be domiciled and registered in Hong-dong County of the same prefecture. The Ministry of Revenue requested permission to send a despatch requiring that county to allocate them some empty fields to cultivate and that the county levy grain tax in accordance with the regulations. This was approved.
