Hong-xi: Year 1, Month 7, Day 24
7 Aug 1425
The Auxiliary Ministry of Personnel advised: "The Jiao-zhi Administration Commissioner of the Right Yi Qian has been promoted from the post of vice censor-in-chief. However, he has abruptly requested permission to return to his hometown to offer sacrifices to his ancestors, and after that proceed to take up his post. We previously received the Ren-zong Emperor's Imperial orders that officers must complete nine years in their posts before they are permitted to go to offer sacrifices to their ancestors. The Emperor said: "Qian is going to take up a post in a distant place. He wants to go and offer sacrifices to his ancestors. This is a normal human feeling. The request is approved."
