Chu Shen, a supervising secretary in the Office of Scrutiny for War, and Chen Ke, an investigating censor, further memorialized, stating: "No further eunuch grand defenders should be appointed to the regions of Jin-chi and Teng-chong. The Vice Director of the Left Sun Xu, who has been assigned there has not yet departed. It is requested that the order be rescinded." As the Imperial order had been issued, the Emperor did not allow their request.
