The Bai salt wells supervisor Du Jian was banished to military service on the border. Previously, when the Mang calamity first appeared, the circuit supervisor ordered Jian to take responsibility for controlling grain rations. Jian pleaded sickness. Only when Yue Feng and Han Qian had been captured did Jian return to his duties clutching a judge's report. Thus, the Grand Coordinator Liu Shi-zeng submitted an impeachment against him, noting that he should be dismissed.
